The rotating globular earth contradicts the biblical description of the shape of the earth. So could there be evidence that we were lied to in elementary school, and the lies reinforced our whole lives by science fiction novels and movies? Perhaps we only think the earth is round because so many others have been indoctrinated to believe the same, all without any varifiable proof.
